Madrid never fails to surprise you with some hidden treasure, a new place, an undiscovered secret. It’s such a cosmopolitan city with so much to choose from. You can even experience food and customs from other parts of Spain. Madrid can take you places without even leaving its city centre. This was certainly the case with my most recent find, a restaurant called Asgaya, specialising in Asturian cuisine with a modern twist, located in the commercial district of Azca, just a stone’s throw away from Bernabéu. The beans in the fabes stew melt in your mouth, the cachopo (breaded veal) is delicious and there are some great Asturian craft ciders. It’s the perfect place for before and after matches.
