Is there anyone who doesn’t know that in Madrid there’s a square dedicated to the goddess Cybele, with a monumental sculpture in the centre? Or that a few dozen metres away there is another no less imposing statue of Neptune? We natives of the capital know this, among other reasons, because these squares are the places where fans of Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, respectively, go to celebrate winning a title. But what about the statue of Apollo? It may not be as large as the other two but it’s no less majestic. Not many people know its location, right on the Paseo del Prado, just a short distance from Neptune. Will it be necessary for some other football team to celebrate their victories here so as to make it more popular?
